Today, the blades and main engine of the world's first 16 MW wind turbine have arrived near the installation site of the Pingtan Waihai Wind Farm in Fujian Province, and completed the preparatory work before installation. This means that as long as the weather conditions are good, the installation of the 16 MW wind turbine can start at any time.

At around 9 PM on the 23rd, China's first 2,000-ton fourth-generation offshore wind power installation platform - "Baihetan" completed all the installation work of the previous 13-megawatt wind turbine and began to land the ship to recover the pile legs inserted into the seabed. At around 3 a.m. on the 24th, the "White crane Beach" sailed to the installation position of the 16 megawatt fan, and then inserted the pile leg into the seabed, and at 9 a.m., the work of inserting the pile and lifting the ship was successfully completed, and the lifting operation of the tower cylinder was about to begin.

Three Gorges Group wind power installation platform "Baihetan" captain Li Gang: At present has done all the preparations for the installation of 16 MW fan.

The center height of the 16 megawatt wheel hub to be installed is 152 meters, which is 34 meters higher than the current 10 megawatt fan used in the offshore batch. The blades and wheels are connected with 176 sets of high-strength bolts at 152 meters high, which requires extremely high performance of the fan installation ship. The installation of "Baihetan" is currently one of China's advanced self-elevating self-propulsion integrated wind power installation platform, lifting capacity of 2,000 tons, operating water depth of 70 meters, can meet the far-reaching sea integrated offshore wind power construction needs.

Three Gorges Group wind power installation platform "Baihetan" captain Li Gang: This kind of leg ship has four pile legs, pile legs will go deep into the mud bottom, to the back will lift the entire platform, not affected by wind and waves, so it is more stable when hoisting, more conducive to on-site operations.

After the 16 MW offshore wind turbine is completed and connected to the grid, it will become the very large sea wind turbine that has been put into operation in China. At full wind speed, the unit can generate 34.2 KWH per rotation, equivalent to the average electricity consumption of a three-person family for a week.
