A few days ago, Oriental Cable issued a suggestive announcement on the signing of the European offshore wind power project contract, the announcement said that the company and Orsted-Woxu and PGE- Poland Grid joint ventures signed the "offshore wind power product Supply Agreement", according to the contract agreement, Dongfang Cable will be the supplier to the Baltica2 offshore wind power project to provide the entire wind farm 66kV submarine cable and supporting accessories, the total contract value of nearly 350 million yuan.
The contract amount represents approximately 5% of Dongfang Cable's audited operating revenue in 2022. There have been no similar transactions between Oriental Cable and counterparties in the past three years. The project deal reflects the acceptance of Oriental Cable by major wind developers in Europe.
The 1.5GW Baltica2 offshore wind project is one of the offshore wind projects under construction in the Baltic Sea.
Baltica-2, part of the first 5.9GW offshore wind project to be developed in Poland, was awarded a CfD contract in April 2021 for the project in the Baltic Sea, which is expected to come on stream before the end of 2027.
Baltica-2 also received CfD contracts for the 1GW Baltica-3 project and the 350MW FEW Baltic II project.
In 2021, global offshore wind developer Orsted formed a joint venture with Poland's PGE to jointly develop GPE2 Baltic Sea projects with a total installed capacity of 2.5GW, namely Baltica 3 and Baltica 2.
In late April this year, Polish developer PGE announced the signing of a unit supply agreement with Siemens Gamesa flagship offshore wind project, which will provide 107 14MW units for the project, as well as operation and maintenance services and spare parts supply for a period of five years.
