On September 26th, FBR played a vital role in Qidong COSCO Shipping & Offshore's achievement of lifting a GTG (Gas Turbine Generator) module. This milestone followed four days of intensive work, including assembly, debugging, and lifting operations.
The GTG project involved three colossal construction modules, each measuring approximately 25m x 41m x 23m and weighing between 1700T to 2200T. These modules were crucial for powering the upper area of an FPSO and were hoisted using heavy-duty slings.
FBR had been investing in the R&D of fiber heavy-duty slings and conducted extensive research to ensure the optimal performance of HMPE slings.
We successfully delivered the LIFTMAX® Plus fiber round heavy-duty slings. These slings, feature Dyneema® SK 78 material, a maximum single length of 30m, a 250mm diameter, and a safe load capacity of 1125T.
Our slings met DNV classification standards, setting a global benchmark and gaining recognition from Dyneema® for meeting the 10-year creep life design requirements. FBR is earning support from SBM Offshore and opening the market to the international offshore heavy-duty sling market.
FBR is always building upon their success in projects such as deep-sea mooring lines for "Deep Sea No.1" and the Liuhua 11-1/4-1 oil field secondary development project, addressing critical mooring line needs for China's major marine equipment.
