On April 30, 2019, the world's new 400,000-ton super large ore carrier "OREZHANJIANG" was successfully delivered in Qingdao North Ship, so far FBR is 400,000-ton ore carrier VLOC series 20 new ships, supporting the supply of ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene HMPE cable project successfully concluded.
Previously, the global mining giant VALE of Brazil in order to improve its transportation competitiveness, and the world's major shipping companies signed a long-term iron ore transportation agreement. In 2016, four international shipyards, Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding Co., LTD., Qingdao Beihai Shipbuilding Industry Co., LTD., China Merchants Heavy Industry Jiangsu Co., LTD., and Yangzijiang Shipbuilding Co., LTD., received orders for 400,000 tons of new VLOC shipbuilding from China Merchants Shipping, China Mining and ICBC Leasing. With the world's leading R&D and manufacturing technology, FBR, with the support of shipyards and shipowners Merchants Vessels, was fortunate to supply 20 new VLOC ships with UHMPE cables.
In order to provide users with better quality service, whenever we know that there is a VLOC new ship returning from Brazil fully loaded, FBR will send technical engineers to visit the ship, help and guide the crew to do a good job in the use, maintenance, maintenance and inspection of HMPE cables, and carefully listen to the feedback of the crew, and submit the manufacturer's ship visit report to the owner. Good after-sales service won the shipowner company and crew praise.
The project lasted nearly 2 years, as the second generation of large ore carrier, focusing on the "green, environmental protection, energy saving, safety" and other characteristics, compared with the first generation of large ore carrier, the unit weight iron ore transportation cost reduced by 30%, reaching the world's leading level. Since 2007, FBR has focused on the unique characteristics of ultra-large ore carriers, targeted regulatory research and new product development, and made a large number of technical reserves. All ultra high molecular weight polyethylene fiber HMPE cables for 20 new VLOC ships meet the relevant specifications of LR, DNV.GL, CCS classification society and ISO standards, and comply with the relevant provisions of MEPC179(59)/IMO/SOLAS/IALA/ILO regulations. Fully comply with the relevant requirements of VALE terminals, including PDM Port.
China Merchants is the shipping arm of China Merchants Group, a large Hong Kong-based state-owned enterprise, which manages and operates the VLCC and VLOC fleets. After these 20 new VLOC ships are put into the route, they will play a positive role in ensuring the transportation safety of our national strategic materials, reducing the cost of raw materials in the domestic steel industry, maintaining the competitiveness of the industry, and optimizing the structure of China's shipping capacity and promoting energy conservation and emission reduction in the maritime industry.
